Overview
Colby Wooden was the forgotten man at times on a formidable Auburn defense as his willingness to take on blockers and open up blitzing lanes for linebackers helped create some moderate consistency. Wooden power-based style of play helped give Auburn one of the better short yardage defenses in the country with his nastiness in the interior as well as brute strength on the edge. He's very limited on the edge as a pass rusher but has potential on pass downs to be a reliable 3-tech defensive tackle while also being capable of being moved outside in run defense. His work is tremendous and his ability to do the little thing very well is what teams are looking for a defensive end like him. For team in need of versatile defender that says yes to every job given to him with a smile on his face should have him high on their board and the team that drafts him could have the keystone presence up front that allows the good players around him to become great.
