An underdeveloped pass rusher with immense potential on the edge with some polishing to his game, that's basically what you're getting with Derick Hall. He possesses a rare and highly desired build for a life on the edge of a 3-4 defense with a muscle packed frame that isn't just for show and he's done a great deal of damage to offenses in his career by simply bull rushing his way into the pocket. He's shiftier than some would expect and Auburn did him no favors in my opinion by keeping him at linebacker for so long as he clearly was born to rush the passer. His only limitations as a rusher will likely come from his rigged and tight frame which will hinder his ability to bend the edge but plenty of rushers have had this issue in the NFL and found great success. He'll need a good coach to polish his game and teach him some moves to get him closer to the quarterback as well as work his way out of trouble and he's clearly shown an ability to learn quickly based on his tape the past two seasons. In a couple seasons, I can certainly see Hall becoming one of the better pass rushers on his team and potentially joining the upper-echelon pro's at the position but time and patience will be required by the team that drafts him.
