Overview
If Dawand Jones had declared in last years draft, I am not sure he would have heard his name called until Day 3 of the draft but after a stellar year at right tackle and a fantastic senior bowl performance Jones has seen his name rocket up draft boards. Dawand Jones is not going to post freak numbers at the combine like we have seen others do the past few years but the film in 2022 shows a player that realizes this and adjusted his play accordingly to not just reliable but highly productive at the tackle position. Currently he wins battles by using his immense size and length to simply overwhelm his opponents and while that worked very well in college, good NFL edge rushers have their contingency plans for that. There is also the roll of the dice currently on plays his size because for every Orlando Brown Jr. and Sr. as well as Jonathan Ogden theirs about 10 others don't work out. If he can perform well at the combine, the skies the limit for him on his potential as well as draft stock but assuming he does what's expected of him, I see a potential decade long stalwart right tackle that is highly reliable on the right side.
