Overview
Luke Wypler is a great athlete in the middle of an exceptional offensive unit as a hole with talent all over that side of the ball and while you can say that he benefitted often from his talented teammates, you can't say that they didn't benefit from him in the interior, especially in the passing game. His ability to make pre-snap reads, pick up blitzers, and move with great agility and speed to mirror shifty defensive lineman. His ability in the run game however leaves a lot to be desired and it's not entirely his fault considering that when you C.J. Stroud at quarterback with the litany of future 1st round picks at receiver, it's hard to run the football with consistency. Nonetheless, Ohio State times seemed to struggle running the football up the middle on occasion mostly due to Wypler's struggles against powerful defensive lineman that could take him for a ride into the pocket at will. As a pass protector, he's one of the better prospects in the draft at this role and should be very good for a pass happy team, however he'll need to vastly improve his play in the run game to become a more reliable NFL player and this will take some time.
