Overview
Steve Avila is built the way you would want an interior offensive lineman built which short, heavy, and powerful and his game tape clearly shows an interior lineman that is difficult task for defensive lineman to deal with because of his natural gifts for the position. His compact and sturdy frame makes him harder to move than most players his size and his strength through his body keeps him rooted on most series when doing battle in the trenches. Does he have mental lapses in the interior when teams move defensive lineman all over the place in order to confuse him? Yes, but this is a very coachable issue that could be solved in training camp his rookie year as well as any other technical issues that may arise. His biggest weakness in my opinion is that his overall game lacks the violence and nastiness that can make or break a player in the NFL and if he wants to be a good offensive lineman in the pros he's going to have become a much meaner individual on the field.
