DJ Turner was a fringe Day 2 prospect to a fringe Day one selection once he ran a 4.26 40 yard dash and forced scouts from all 32 teams to dive deep into his tape and fanout just how good he is at the position. Turner is a ultra-athletic football player that doesn't entirely rely on his athletic prowess as some do but his textbook technique throughout his overall game gives him a higher floor than most corners in this draft. His flaws in press coverage with his struggles dealing with size and strength greater than his are evident and likely won't get fixed until a year or two in the league but the one thing he certainly needs to improve on is his ability to come away with the football as well as be more aggressive as playmaker on the field as too often the ball slipped through his hands and defensive coordinators at the end of the day would sacrifice a little technique in ones game if it meant that the player in question could create more turnovers on the field. Turner is an admirable prospect that should be a plug-n-play rookie and could find himself being a reliable chess piece in a teams secondary.
