overview
If Kayshon didn't suffer a season-ending leg injury his sophomore year, he probably would have dominated college football been a much higher ranked prospect than he currently is because Boutte has immense talent for the position. His ability to run clean and crisp routes, get open quickly and consistently, as well as turn any catch into a touchdown from anywhere on the field is something NFL teams are always looking for in the NFL. Boutte however has a bad case of looking for his homerun shot before he has the ball in his hands and that has lead to a lot of disappointing plays that had so much potential. It's entirely his fault that his production suffered in 2022 as an entirely new coaching staff and quarterback were implemented in 2022 and with Boutte unable to practice due his recovering leg injury, he wasn't able to get his footing in his final year. Kayshon Boutte is a boom or bust prospect in the NFL draft because while the tools and capabilities are there for #1 receiver that can change life for an offense, his college tape was rather underwhelming for a prospect of his capabilities and any team that drafts is taking a huge bet that he'll be a much better pro than college athlete.
