Overview
From a purely technical standpoint, Joey Porter Jr. is a close 2nd to Christian Gonzalez in the draft but his scheme specific style of play is likely to cause a fall down draft boards. Porter Jr. is the best press-man cornerback to come out of college in a long time and his technical prowess in his specific scheme in college makes him one of the high floor players in the draft depending on the team that drafts him. His father coached him up to be tough and rugged at the position and his efforts clearly paid off with a likely Day 1 selection for his son and if Porter Jr. is put in the right system, he could be a better pro than his father was. If he can become a much more active interceptor of the football, he could be a potential pro bowler in his career.
