The Tennessee Titans Offseason
2022 Dream Draft Pick: Treylon Burks

The Tennessee Titans cut ties with Julio Jones in 2022 this offseason and getting A.J. Brown a playmaking receiver opposite him is crucial for the success of this team and Treylon Burks is the best playmaker in the draft. Burks is talented receiver with a thick and muscular build and athleticism to go with it and Tennessee desperately needs another receiver that can take the short passes to the house. If Burks is available at the 26th pick, this team should wait long to turn his card in.
The To-Do List
Cut Janoris Jenkins
The Tennessee are with a stones throw of becoming in cap hell in 2022 with being $6,600,000 over the cap and with some tough choices as for who to cut on the team to make cap space, or at the very least renegotiate, Janoris Jenkins is the most likely player to be on the outs in the 2022 offseason. Janoris Jenkins is a decent cornerback still in his career however he's inching closer to the age of 34 yrs old and cornerbacks normally drop drastically in production at this age and at 2022 cap of over $10,000,000 in 2022 it's either time to cut him loose and renegotiate. Jenkins replacement is already on the roster in 2021 first round pick Caleb Farley who's looking to rebound from his torn ACL and getting him back on the field and being highly productive for this team should be a primary goal of this organization and he can't do it in Janoris Jenkins shadow. Janoris Jenkins is approaching a point in his career where getting a ring on his finger is more important than getting the big money, which he achieved in New York, and while he certainly could renegotiate his deal with the Titans other organizations with better odds to make it to big game. Kansas City, Cincinnati, and Buffalo are all looking for cheap and productive veteran corners that can make an impact for a high powered team and although the Titans are certainly in the conversation as one of those teams, they can't afford him at his current salary.
Go after Dont'a Hightower in free Agency
The one major issue the Titans have on their team is the linebacker position but with Devin Lloyd and Nakobe Dean out of draft range, unless quarterbacks start getting drafted heavily which I don't expect, the Titans need to address the linebacker position in free agency and I can't think of a better player for them to sign than former New England Patriot linebacker Dont'a Hightower, assuming he leaves to test the market. Dont'a Hightower is highly skilled veteran that plays with elite football IQ and tremendous toughness and was a versatile chess piece for Bill Belichick in his years as patriot but he's turning 32 yrs old in March and the Patriots are starting to try and get younger currently which leaves him on the outs and given Mike Vrabel's former time spent in New England and his affinity for Patriot players, Hightower to the Titans seems like a no-brainer here. Hightower is the perfect plug-n-play player for this team with his extensive knowledge of the position as well as his ability to quarterback a defense and with this teams potentially elite front 7 with Jeffery Simmons emerging as a potential monster in 2021 and Harold Landry III truing into one of best edge rushers in football, getting an instinctual linebacker that has seen everything and has had success at the position is a must for this team to relies it's potential.
Resign Harold Landry III
This one is the more obvious tasks for the Tennessee Titans this offseason but's very much worth mentioning because Harold Landry III has been a very good edge rusher in his Titans career and if they lose him this offseason you can kiss your chances of going far into the playoffs, and potentially even making them, good by because Landry's presence off the edge is very effective and can be daunting for offensive lineman to deal. The Titans signed Bud Dupree in 2021 to a very big deal and he certainly left little to be desired with only 3 sacks in 11 games and if this team lets Harold Landry III go they will effectively lose the key cog of their pass rush go. Harold Landry III has been far more reliable in his career than Bud Dupree when it comes to both injuries and level of play and he's been a consistent presence rushing off the edge for Tennessee since he was drafted by them and Landry III is a player that they can't risk losing in my opinion if they wish to go far in the playoffs. This is a team that has Ryan Tannehill at the quarterback position and I'd be willing to bet that if this team makes the playoffs, he'd be considered the worst quarterback in it and the only way a worse quarterback beats a better one is if the pass rush of the worse quarterbacks defense can make life hell for the other and without Landry III in the 2021 playoffs rushing off the edge, as well as Jeffery Simmons disrupting the middle, the Titans wouldn't have had a chance in that game. Sign him to whatever deal he wants, which is reportedly $17,000,000 per year, and reap the rewards because you are not going to go far without him.
