The Houston Texans Offseason
Best Move of the Offseason: Signing Dalton Schultz
The best move the Texans made this offseason was the signing of Dalton Schultz after contract talks with the Cowboys fell through and the Texans were able to snag him for a relatively cheap deal. Schultz is a highly reliable tight end that can act as a safety blanket for whomever will be available at the #2 pick in the draft, assuming they draft a quarterback.
The Top Draft Target
#2 C.J. Stroud (QB) Ohio State UniversityThe best pick for the Texans at #2 overall in the draft would be C.J. Stroud who is one of the most accurate passers in the draft and would greatly improve the Texans offense and put them on a track to success in 2023 and beyond.

#12 Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR) Ohio State UniversityThe best player to compliment the #2 pick in C.J. Stroud would be his elite receiver prospect in Jaxon Smith-Njigba whom Stroud had his best season with and already has comradery with. The last time we saw a team draft their quarterbacks favorite receiver was 2021 with Ja'Marr Chase out of LSU after his superstar quarterback Joe Burrow was taken the year before and when the two played their first season together, they went to the Super Bowl.
