• Phenomenal athletic gifts and size to be a pass rusher in the interior.

• Speed and agility for his size is exceptional.

 

• Major pop in his punches uproot offensive lineman with consistency. 

 

• Leg drive when gets under opposing lineman's pads is very powerful and potent. 

 

• Can move down the trenches to make tackles without getting caught in the wash.

• Has enough speed to run down quarterbacks when gets the tackling angle down.

Overview

Gervon Dexter was a frustrating prospect to watch in college football not just because of how hyped he was coming out of college but also because his athletic gifts are obvious on the field when he puts his game together every so often. For every dominant performance on a play that shows him rip through offensive lineman American cheese you see ten plays of him getting mauled or stymied at the line of scrimmage and it all comes down to his technique as a pass rusher. He's dealt with an issue a great deal 5-Star recruits deal with coming out of high school and it's that his total reliance on his athletic prowess often gets him into trouble as more sound blockers as well as offensive schemes to quash him become overwhelming. He's one of prospects that you hope has a better NFL career than college as the coaching level in the pros is much better but it's likely going to take the right coach to get the most out of his him.
